LOST AND FOUND

This episode is one of my favorite stories of season 5. McGee brings a troop of his Youth Rangers to NCIS for a field trip. When showing the boys how AFIS works, Abby gets a hit on the print of one of the kids, who turns out to be an abducted child and his dad is on the run…for a murder he didn't commit.

This episode had so many great scenes. Jenny reading about Hollis Mann's retirement to Hawaii. Gibbs manipulating Jenny into looking after Carson. So lovely to see Gibbs being sneaky again. Love me some sneaky Gibbs. Ziva and Tony playing rock, paper, scissors to decide who's in charge.

The stand out scenes, however, were those between Gibbs and the boy, Carson Taylor. When Gibbs goes to Jenny's home to speak with Carson after he calls him, his understanding of the boy's fears and worries is wonderful to watch. As is the scene in the break room with Gibbs and Carson eating ice creams. I must admit, I found myself wondering how many times the takes were fluffed so that they could eat more ice cream.

The scene in autopsy with Ducky giving Palmer a lesson in forensic psychology was great. As was Gibbs instinctive grasp of the subject.

As befits a David J. North script, "Lost and Found" had some great lines.

Tony: Seriously Probie, I don't make enough fun of you?

McGee: Explains why he took Carson and ran.
Tony: Someone just earned his detective badge.

Mrs Taylor: I'm his wife, not his therapist, Agent McGee.

Abby: You know the great thing about moms? Whatever you say or do, they forgive you.

Det. Collins: It's been a long time, DiNozzo.
Tony: Unfortunately, not long enough, Collins.

Ziva: I'm driving.
Tony: I'm dead.

Carson: Do you get mad easily?
Gibbs: Depends on who you ask.

Jenny: You want to tell me what this is about, Agent Gibbs?
Gibbs: Your phone bill just got bigger.

Tony: We're following Ziva. Even the dogs are tired.
